Principles of Success

Clarity about what I want helps me declare my SMART goals!

1. Career - I'm transitioning from yoga to writing.

2. Money/ Wealth - I want to make good money as a writer.

3. Health - I'm committed to being healthy inside out, but let anxiety & stress affect me.

4. Relationships - I'm want to learn how to have amazing relationships with the people in my life and be open to a romantic relationship with someone.

5. Community - There is a great need out there for my Yoga Life Lessons and I know I can help many people because yoga changed my life. If not now, when? If not me, who? I'm stepping up into my power as a leader and learning what I need to know to get to the next level.

P.S. I thank my coaches Karen Lee and Jerry Baden (Landmark Forum). I also thank CEO Space for my continual growth as a person and a professional writer.

Casting Call 2

 Subscribe in a reader
Ugly Duckling 2.0
excerpt from my book

I am looking for 5 people in West L.A. to play the supporting characters since I will be the heroine. This play is a work of fiction based on my life, but I believe many of you can relate to it. RSVP with your name, age and the name of the character you're auditioning for by Thursday  March 31st. Thanks.

Act Two:

It’s the first day of school and Ugly is finally going to first grade. She is shy and clings to her mom Eva because she doesn’t know anyone at the new school except her big sister.

Eva: "Be a good girl and everything will be fine." She says to Ugly and leaves.
Amy: "You're acting like a chicken."
Teacher: “Children, you must line up with your own class and grade.”
Ugly is not in line because she wants to ask her sister something.
Amy: “Get it line, stupid!” She says, pushing Ugly away.
Teacher: “Settle down. What is the problem?”
Ugly: “I want to go home.”
Amy: “Don’t be such a baby.”
Teacher:  “Be quiet! There is no talking while you are in line.”
Ugly feels bad as she shuffles off to the back of the line. Some kids in her own class snicker and make her feel worse. Ugly throws up.

Jenny: “Are you sick?”
Ugly: “My tummy hurts.”
Mabel: “I think I’m going to be sick too.”
Teacher: “I see that we have a bit of trouble here. What’s your name?” She asks.
Ugly: “Ugly.”
Teacher: “Go get some paper towels and clean up the mess.”
Ugly nods and walks to the girls’ restroom.
Amy: “I can’t believe she’s my sister.” She says to one of her friends and Ugly can overhear her. Ugly feels ashamed and hangs her head.

Water 101

70% of our bodies is made up of water. A healthy person can drink about 3 gallons (48 cups) of water per day. Coffee contains caffeine and can act as a mild diuretic, preventing water from traveling to necessary locations in the body. Pure water (H2O) has a neutral pH of 7, which is neither acidic nor basic. Water dissolves more substances than any other liquid. Wherever it travels, water carries chemicals, minerals, and nutrients with it.
  1. Of all the water on the earth, humans can used only about three tenths of a percent of this water. Such usable water is found in groundwater aquifers, rivers, and freshwater lakes.
  2. The U.S. uses about 346,000 million gallons of fresh water every day.
  3. About 80% of our water is used for irrigation and generating power.
  4. An average person in the U.S uses anywhere from 80-100 gallons of water per day. Flushing the toilet actually takes up the largest amount of this water.
  5. Approximately 85% of U.S. residents receive their water from public water facilities.
  6. By the time a you feel thirsty, your body has lost over 1% of its total water amount.
  7. The weight you directly lose after intense physical activity is weight from water, not fat.
Signs of Mild to moderate dehydration:

Dry,or sticky mouth

Sleepiness or tiredness — children are likely to be less active than usual

Thirst

Decreased urine output — fewer than six wet diapers a day for infants or lack or urine for 8 hrs

Fatique and dizziness in an older child
Lethargy or irritability

Few or no tears when crying

Muscle weakness

Headache

Dizziness

Do you suffer from a lack of energy? Perhaps, you are not drinking enough water. I am partnering with Michael Jacobs, CEO of Thank You Plan to empower you to be healthy and wealthy. Get a complimentary 90-minute financial consultation with no further obligation! Tell him I referred you.

Love is the Answer

#CNY Red = Good Luck

“Love The Killer App”

A smart person is one who uses love to succeed in business and in life. How do you do that? By sharing your intangibles. By that Tim means sharing:

1.      Your knowledge
2.      Your network
3.      Your compassion
What happens when you do all this?
* You become a rich valuable source of information to all around you.
* You are seen as a person with valuable insight.
* You are perceived as generous to a fault, producing surprise and delight.
* You double your business intelligence in one year.
* You triple your network of personal relationships in two years.
* You quadruple the number of colleagues in your life who love you like family.
In short, you become one of those amazing, outstanding people to whom everyone turns, who leads rather than follows, who never runs out of ideas, contacts, or friendship.

Webmeadow is powered by the sun. It's mission is to help clients and the Earth at the same time. Aaron Parkening and Eileen Webb, the founders of webmeadow are yoga teachers who help clients get more business, audience members, and voice through their website services.  And they help the earth by:

  • Composting, re-using and recycling everything possible
  • Paying a living wage
  • Using solar power and offsetting the power that partners use by purchasing renewable energy credits
  • Making processes as efficient as possible
The founders are experts at making websites and talking to databases for the likes of Amazon.com, the Internet Archive, and quite a few Wall Street firms. Not only do they run this business, they also own Old Village School. I think the world is a better place when yoga teachers start running small businesses. Yoga changed my life. I think it can also change the world. Yoga is very powerful.

Meditation

#Chinese New Year

I just attended a centering, grounding, powerful group meditation guided by Darlene Basch, LCSW. I feel energized and relaxed, very similar to how I'd feel after a yoga class. So, I googled Meditation and here's what I just learned.

Studies have shown that people who meditate are much happier and healthier than everyone else. And they have extended life spans, too. As a matter of fact,  meditation can reduce and even reverse certain diseases. People who are experienced meditation and can achieve the deepest levels of meditative states can tap into levels of brain function they never thought possible -levels of function that exist in each and every one of us -resulting in increased clarity or intelligence. So, the Buddhist monks or others who have a regular meditation practice are closer to discovering the secret of life. Many of history's greatest inventors, philosophers, and scientists received their revolutionaryfuture -changing ideas during their meditation sessions.

Why don't most of us meditate? Traditional methods of meditation often take a lot of time and effort - every single day. And it sometimes takes years, even decades, of practice before one is able to reach the deeper states of meditation required to achieve life transforming results. The learning process can also sometimes feel boring and like a chore. As with everything else, only those who are extremely dedicated, disciplined, and committed are able to attain the life -enhancing benefits that meditation has to offer. For some people yoga also seems boring or too much of a chore. Yoga like meditation has many of the same benefits and it's a good all-around exercise (cardio and strength training).

I'm excited about the Year of the Dragon. How cool is it to be celebrating the new year twice. If you made and broke a resolution to be healthy, don't feel bad and do nothing. Decide to be healthy and come to a yoga class. Just imagine what you could do if you had access to these deep levels of meditation through yoga!
