Lion’s Breath
Lion's Breath helps relieve tension.
Come all fours with your hands and feet on the mat. Place your
hands shoulders width apart and your knees at hips width. Take a deep breath
in. Exhale through the mouth, making a "ha" sound as you stick your
tongue out as far as you can. Bring your gaze to the middle of your forehead
between the eyebrows. Inhale and return to a neutral face. Repeat 3 times. Have
fun with it.
The lion is a symbol of
courage. I was curious about other traits that lions stand for. So I googled “lions
traits” and found that there is a personality profile of a lion. It’s quite
interesting. As you practice Lion’s Breath, focus
on the strengths that you have and those that you want to embody. At the beginning of each yoga class, set your intention for what you wish to get out of the class. Focus on your breath and intention.
