Join UTLA, teachers, parents, students and the community
to fight against RIFs and the devastating cuts to vital school programs
.

For three years in a row, LAUSD officials have issued an excessively large number of layoff notices even though they knew that the vast majority of UTLA members eventually would be brought back. This destructive, unnecessary process destabilizes our schools and inflicts severe emotional and financial turmoil on teachers and health & human services professionals. It also costs millions of dollars.
It does not have to be this way.
Tell LAUSD to go back to the drawing board and create a realistic, humane budget... a budget that does not unnecessarily lay off teachers and health & human services professionals and does not threaten or eliminate vital programs like
Adult Education, Early Childhood Education, Arts Education, School Readiness, and more.
WHEN IS THE RALLY: February 14, after school
WHERE: LAUSD Headquarters (333 South Beaudry Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90017 (map and parking)
